US News & World Report ranked Ohio Northern University third among best regional colleges in the Midwest and fourth in the Midwest for best value. Ohio Northern was also ranked # 6 in the Washington Monthly Best Undergraduate Colleges category and won Niche.com’s # 8 spot out of Ohio’s 45 Best Private Universities.
These recognitions reflect just a few of the many recent high rankings from leading higher education assessors who continue to view the UN as a leading learning institution across the region and country. The annual rankings examine a variety of criteria ranging from student-teacher ratios to socio-economic rise. Collectively, they continue to emphasize the academic virtues and service-oriented values ââof the UN to students and graduates.
American News and World Report
In US News & World Report’s ’22 Best College Ranking, UN ranked third in the best regional colleges in the Midwest. This is the second year that the University has received this ranking and the sixth consecutive year it has been ranked among the top six institutions in this category. The list of the best colleges and universities in the Midwest highlights schools that offer exceptional undergraduate experience and a wide range of programs in the liberal and professional arts.
Additionally, for the second year in a row, Ohio Northern is ranked # 4 in the Midwest for Best Value. This ranking takes into account academic quality and the net cost of attendance for a student who has received the average level of financial aid as needed.
TJ Smull College of Engineering held its # 29 ranking on the National List for Undergraduate Engineering and ranked # 19 nationally for its Mechanical Engineering program. This fall semester marks the third year of operation of the James Lehr Kennedy Engineering building, which has received accolades for its green design and technology and for its innovative university space offerings.
Another notable ranking from US News & World Report includes the No. 10 regional for best undergraduate education program.
The Princeton Review included Ohio Northern in its 2022 edition of “The best 387 colleges” annual college guide. This service ranks colleges and universities largely on student responses to their college experience. The publication notes that “many students are drawn to the ‘prestigious’ Raabe College of Pharmacy” and “other outstanding UN academic options,” such as the accounting program, the political science program and the school of pharmacy. ‘highly ranked engineers.

When it comes to the success and earning potential of UN alumni, Payscale.com ranked Ohio Northern 10th in its “Best Colleges in Ohio by Salary Potential” list for 2021. According to Payscale statistics, the average base salary of a former UN employee is $ 72,000 per year, while the average mid-career salary is $ 108,900.

Ohio Northern has been ranked nationally in the Wall Street Journal / Times Higher Education College ranking for 2022. Almost 800 colleges and universities were included, with the UN ranking 250th.
